I bought a Volvo Vnl 670. Good running truck but not much to look at. Problem is my hubby and I are teaming atm and this truck did not come with a top bunk. Needless to say, the sleeping arrangements are a bit cramped and uncomfortable. Is there a kit or something to have a top bunk installed? I searched the internet and haven’t found anything that even remotely says I can install one.... suggestions plz...I need a good nights sleep before I rope my hubby to the hood!

Well, you said yourself that the truck isn't going to be in a truck show any time soon. I would buy some 4x4s and a sheet of plywood and make my own. Half a day's work and a coat of paint and it could look pretty decent. Might have to pull a panel or two to find out where you can anchor it down. But shouldn't be to difficult at all.

you also have to have safety restraints which have to be mounted onto the bunk and the sleeper, and this is where an issue may happen.

Why didn't you guys buy a truck with twin bunks in the first place?

    Trb8462 and BoostedTeg Thank this.

Question on that subject. Is that a somewhat new regulation? Reason I ask is I did some time teamed in a 05 Pete 379 and that truck didn't have any type of restraints. I don't remember there being any holes or bolts indicating something was removed either. Not in any way saying you're wrong. I'm merely asking cause I don't know.

How are you driving a team truck if both drivers sleep at the same time?

    Cruise control.
Years ago I put a hammock in the truck. I liked it better than the bunk.

That’s only for the bunk you’re sleeping in while the truck is in motion. The bottom bunk should already have the net restraint, so as long as they only use the top bunk when parked they’ll be alright.
