I mean it's just like $160 but it's the principal!DSK333 Thanks this.

...but you know now, right? You won't let them get away with it again, right? You'll also help out other Carriers who don't yet know either, right?
Preaching to the choir, my friend! It is very much the about absolute principle! I'm the type of guy who will leave the Shipper if not fully loaded within two hours if detention rates are not agreed upon and produced in writing signed by both parties. I will bite my nose to spite my face before I let some thief steal my services from me. I worked extremely hard to get where I am and I refuse to let them take it from me.
It is US that have ALL the skin in the game. Thousands upon thousands of overhead, equipment costs, permits, taxes, governing bodies, immense amounts of responsibility and a seemingly never ending line of blood thirty lawyers ready to pounce of every little mistake we make. Meanwhile, most of the Brokers have puny little bonds as their only source of real overhead and responsibilities. We are seriously underpaid for what we do yet they make bank from our hard work and risk.Last edited: Sep 25, 2018

It's VERY easy.
Get the bonding company info, contact them and tell them you wish to file against customer "xyz" bond.
They will request your documents , process them and issue payment.
A word to the wise...., get the bond info on what docs they will need from you, inform them what you're wishing to do and you will make one last attempt to collect today.
THEN..make one last call to the broker.
...Warn them you are filling on their bond today if there is no payment issued and you have contacted their bonding company already.
Always give someone a LAST chance to make things right before potentially hurting their business.
Usually the broker knows you're serious and will pay ASAP is my experience... It's bad for a broker to have their bond filled upon!WarriorTransportGirl, FoolsErrand, DSK333 and 1 other person Thank this. -
It's an attention getter, to be certain. We ran into a situation recently, where a guy threatened to file after being paid for half the load, on one of my coworker's loads (He only picked up half.) In this case, we had what he was supposed to have done on the signed rate confirmation, and the BOL was signed as being short one of the units he was supposed to get at the auction site. Rather than even mess with the whole thing, the boss decided to pay him a few hundred more. Sometimes it's worth making the headache go away, even when you're in the right.FoolsErrand, KB3MMX and W900AOwner Thank this.
