As a new OO with a dry van in the northeast: you won’t have “maximum earning potential” if you don’t know who to know.
That segment is flooded with cheap service providers, more so around the northeast looking to head south.

Trash goes to va or Ohio from the boroughs for $500-$600.

If I were you, I’d get a linehaul job, make $100k+ and be home everyday and weekends.

I'll second what Hurst said, but also from personal experience, if you want more time with your family, don't START your own business. If you want more time with your family 5-10 years from now, then yes start your business and spend the next 5-10 getting it together, then you'll have some options, but for the foreseeable future, if you're starting now, you'll be working 7 days a week for a couple years at least.

Time with family and a o/o. Hahahahaha. I forgot what my wife looks like. Between booking loads, working on the truck, making sure I am legal with all the dam laws out there, billing, sending letters of where is my money it’s been 60 days yo, then working on the truck. Wait someone has to drive 70 hours a week also too. I ask myself everyday why do I do this.

Everyone wants to be CEO and make CEO money.

Problem is that no one wants to invest the time, money and frustration it took to get to that CEO position.
