His top speed is 60MPH so all of you that got upset with my post & cried about it & raged off, don't get upset when he is in the passing lane & your wanting to go around him & he stays in it for 5 miles. Don't you dare cuss or yell at him on the CB & keep your fingers down when you finally get to pass him. Like most of everything else in my life, I have to find out for myself. I don't live in fear like company drivers, I only asked this question to try & get some help for my friend. I thought this forum was to work with each other, not to say I am going to tell on you or your breaking the law or you must not do that. I'm not stupid & my friend & I know if he were caught he would lose his JOB. But some of us take chances out there, he would be happy to just drive the posted speed limit. But for the ones of you that really want to know the answer, here it is.
Googel This : Safety Pass Pro is an electronic device truck drivers use to control their speed. Currently, truck speed is limited by an onboard computer or, Engine Control Module (ECM).
Trucking Companies that have large fleets of big rig trucks install speed governors to control costs. Speed governors limit the maximum, top speed of the vehicle in order to maximize fuel savings and expand company earnings. If these speed limiters are set too low they can become Dangerous.
The SafetyPass Pro allows drivers to over-ride the computer settings and increase speed beyond the computer limitation to increase safety and control when passing slower vehicles on two lane highways.
The SafetyPass Pro from fastertruck.com is also used to reduce road-rage situations by allowing drivers to pass more quickly and then get out of way of faster traffic on the freeway. This is a benefit that truck and car drivers appreciate. Smoother traffic flow instead of congested freeways. Oh by the way if that don't work for you remember to put the .com behind it....

Mr Outlaw, if your buddy can only go 60 maybe he shouldnt be in the left lane.
PharmPhail and luvtheroad Thank this. -
Dear Cowboy, You will notice in my previous post that I did not insult or attack you... You actually brought back old memories that I thought were funny then and now.
Here is something to think about... A lot of carriers have turned down trucks for a reason and that's to save money. If you would and maybe you already have, please read about how much financial trouble a lot of carriers are in. Having a truck turned down saves money and could quite possibly save jobs. Now, I know that you and many others on here will not agree with that, but that's why it's being done. It's not being done to irritate drivers, it's a simple matter of trying to stay operating under 100 or less. -
That sounds like a good device.

I just want to know why a 60 MPH truck JUST HAS TO PASS a 59 MPH truck
-
its like why did the racoon cross the road... to show the possum that it could be done.

I don't get it.
