There are many places where you have to stay to the left hand side of the right lane even part way into it to make that right turn, Just watch and make sure that no one is coming up your right side. Try not to leave enough room for them. Then if there is no cars on your left, do a button hook to the turn at the last moment.

I know real world tends to differ from reality, but the scenario you described is a famous diagram on all the cdl tests just to make sure you know it's wrong lol. Again though, I know it is what it has to be.

Better than taking down the Light pole though, Aye? LOL

Some shippers will not allow sweeping a trailer at the loading dock. Some drivers arrive with broken pallets, spilled granular or powder, etc. If no dumpster is available, you will see piles of this junk in the parking lot. Some shippers do not have brooms or shovels available to the drivers.
In St. Louis, Anheuser-Busch had the best system for cleaning trailers. An old dock area was equipped with large diameter vacuum hoses that could be extended to the nose of a trailer. Eventually, they scaled down to another dock next to a dumpster, with brooms and shovels available. The drivers abused the vacuum system by trying to suck up larger debris that should have been carried out of the trailer. -
I will post it when I get home next friday cause the idleaire internet is just slow on the upload. I've got uverse at home.

----OK , A driver was trying to back up to a good size loading dock ,couldn't back up after 7 tries-----
Been there done that. Got the shirt to prove it.
I've been out here since '91, and I still mess up on occasion. Sometimes I even have to reset the unit and try again. I have no shame in asking for help, nor am I unwilling to help someone out. Remember that we all can have bad days... It's important to remember those and try and learn from them.
It sounds like, Reilly that you tried to help and this person was just too stubborn to accept it, I had one of these scenario's the other day. I delivered in Portland, ME, there was another guy delivering also, he had to "zig zag" into his dock. The sun was coming up over the ocean, and this guy is backing up with his windows closed, I tried my best to help him but he was unwilling to accept any help from anyone. At least he didn't hit anything. I threw my hands up and walked away.Wiseguywireless Thanks this. -
Try running your tandams in the same place at all times. I use 41 ft. always, regardless of the weight. I only slide when the weight dictates. Which it shouldn't if the trailer was loaded right to begin with.
You eventually get used to backing at a set length, with no issues. Of course, you still have to get out and look for those really tight spots. -
Surely not.... oh no not another swift bashing thread....
