Doesn’t training mean you have somebody masterbating, farting, crapping their pants and generally in your personal space 24/7?
Are there really any GOOD trucking companies left ?

Well guess that says alot bout yourself, cuz I definitely havent had any of those issues with any of my students. It does mean 10cpm extra and the ability to run 3600+miles every week all while going home almost every weekend for 48+hrs. And extra bonuses. But yes its all bout the masterbation ...IluvCATS Thanks this.

$0.72 a mile I find VERY hard to believe, actually. Here's why.
A friend is getting the runaround with a local school that can't keep instructors long enough to finish qualifying students for the DOT exam. I told him if it would help him, he could finish training with Swift and I would team with him running nights (less risk of my asthma being a problem).
I asked them about training him myself, but they wouldn't let me train one person and then team with them. Offered me $0.55 a mile to train. And Covenant, one of the many Dewey, Cheatham and Howe's of trucking, is paying trainers $0.22 a mile more?

It's not so much the company. But the people.
Even Mr Meanie Dispatcher crinkles into a smile if you pass the doughnuts early in the morning. Just set em on the counter and back away. You'll get a load soon enough.
One time I was in Memphis Dispatch, a question came up related to scheduling. Memphis knew nothing so we called ST Dallas (Lancaster for National Dispatching) they asked the unit number told me to hold a minute and boom I was connected to the Memphis Dispatcher near me in the same room on another phone.
We still laugh at that today when we think about it. FFE was having a bad day when they cannot be bothered with a question. The solution was to simply take trailer and run the #### thing. We will see what the customer says when we show up on nothing at all. (No appt, no delivery date or time, no nothing.)
They yelled. But they took the load. It's theirs after all. -
so if having many drivers there makes them a "good" company then does that mean a company with 3 drivers is not good? lol the only thing the big companies have is a good marketing plan and enough money to pay the lawmakers

why is everyone acting like that is good money, you can make that at some companies as a solo driver if you want to run that hard or drive for an ltl coLast edited: Oct 4, 2018

No, people say that Werner sucks. Don't go there, they're terrible, etc.
But they have million milers working there, they must like it, it must be a great place to work if they've stayed there that long.
That's why one persons lousy company is a great place to work for someone else.Nava-jo x press, patsy, Rideandrepair and 1 other person Thank this. -
Agreed Lonesome! My neighbor drives for PAM has for several years and he must like it there. He drives a new Pete and he’s home every weekend.
Rideandrepair and Lonesome Thank this.
