Air Ride Vs Non Air Ride Jeep

    Considering a single axle jeep. Order a new one and wait 4-5 months. Or get a used one but it is non air,no suspension. Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated.

    Although unlikely true I want to make statement and say that all these trailer manufacturers who build jeeps, spreader bars, and flip axles is one big conspiracy because the prices are all outrageous.
    Now with that said are you running primarily in Canada? If so I have seen some "long bridge" version with flip neck extensions to meet weight laws up a couple of provinces. If you answer yes then you will need to get someone on here that knows about Canadian laws to chime in and help you. I am uneducated there. All I know is you need the axle 102" wide for Canada.
    For the lower 48 states you will also need someone to chime in that can tell you what states do not recognize the single axle jeep. CA does not recognize it for one. I have "heard" Missouri does not recognize it, but has been hear say so far. If I were a betting man Oklahoma would be a state to check to see if it is good. I have to run the pusher axle control off the leveling valve of the truck to get full weight. Wonder if that means they require an air ride jeep if it is part of the same group???
    My opinion if you are not running in Canada get a pusher axle added to your truck. Its cheaper, lighter, more manueverable forward and backward, and actually shorter (because jo dogs tend to be 60" spacing or greater). I looked at getting one a ways back and this dealer, Blackwell, down in TX talked me out of one they had for sale. After what he explained it made sense to me.

    So do you have a single axle jeep? If you do i was wondering what diff would it make from a air ride to non air ride. Thanks again

    I’ve pulled them both ways. They work either way with weight distribution but the non air ride jeep will kick you in the kidneys ever little bump you hit. My opinion is that air ride is the way to go if you really want one I’d also order one that is capable o& jumping on the truck when empty.

    What will you be pulling it with, pulling on it, types of roads, I ask because its hard to make suggestions without more information. To haul heavy equipment I sometimes use a tandem jeep behind my tandem drive Macks, pulling a tri axle low bed. Traction can be an issue, backing up is not easy, and I've backed up just about everything ever made, but the ride is not an issue with the air jeep, the rubber block jeep though can be brutal, I just slow down, but am not the type of driver you see in a rush. With over weight and over width permits, and 8 axles, slow and easy is the only pace to use.

    What about up here in Canada? I don't believe we have such an endorsement. I've been wrong before though.
