This really hits home and I am quite shaken up as my wife and I eat at the restaurant frequently.
As a matter of fact we had dinner with friends last week and my wife had made plans with one of our friends to meet there for lunch this weekend while I’m out on the road.
Thank God things got in the way and lunch didn’t happen for them this weekend.
I know the hill and intersection very well as
I live less than 20 min. From there.
There is a detour for trucks to go around it but sometimes trucks still disregard the detour signs and there have been multiple trucks accidents on this hill and intersection.
I will say there are quite a few warning signs on the hill and I suspect at the speed they came thru the intersection it must have been mechanical failure.

I'm sure it was part of "his" plan for all of them to die. Why do people need to feel so much remorse about it?

It called being human. And I agree, it’s absolutely His plan.

Be interesting to read the NTSB report on the braking capacity of the Navigator stretch limo. Were the standard brakes capable of stopping the increase in mass of the stretch process?
Sad that so many of the victims were from the same family.

    Hulld and Lepton1 Thank this.

That crossed my mind. Eighteen people adds about 3000 lbs. Steep downhill, not sure how long the hill is, but that's a lot of weight for standard brakes.
