Taking a tanker from Pleasanton, Tx to Plaquemine, LA to get filled then back to Pleasanton. Any tips for these two states? Not sure what I'm picking up. Pretty nervous but should be alright.

Good luck --- Some tips: Get out and Look. Seriously, if you need to get out of the truck 100 times to make sure you won't hit something then do it. Don't risk doing something stupid because you feel like being a "super-trucker".
Turn off your radio, and CB (if you have it) when backing, and roll down your windows. Listen for horns, other drivers may be trying to warn you. GET OUT AND LOOK. Seriously, no joke, just do it.speedyk, Texnmidwest, homeskillet and 5 others Thank this. -
Will do, gun. Thanks. IllI he driving a 2007 Pete 396 with big ol' heat shields so I'll be getting out often

Don't forget to do a thorough pre trip. It really is important. I recently picked up a new guy to be my team driver and on his first trip he clocks in and says "ok so now we sit here for 15 minutes". I said he'll no get out and check everything out man. Dude got stopped by the DOT with the blue lights 3 times in 2 weeks for trailer lights out, missing mudflaps... easy stuff. Don't be like that.Just passing by and Smut Thank this.

And slow your pace down a bit. If you start feeling nervous, take five and regroup. Things will get smoother with practice. Be patient.
