Didn't mean to insinuate that you were bouncing aimlessly, sorry. Those types are how the megas keep their trucks filled after everyone else leaves.

You should consider tanker work if you are in New Orleans. I think there are several good outfits that hire down that way, some are regional and get you home often. A lot of times you unload product and deadhead back, just get the trailer washed out. Do a google search (Ergon, Miller Transporters, Quality Carriers, John N John maybe?, Superior Bulk) etc. Superior might take you now.

Think outside the box. I also spent 5 grand but never spent a day at a Mega to gain my experience. I started with Food Service. Extremely physically demanding but also paid extremely well to start. But see, they want people that can interact with their customers too not just steering wheel holders. Smartly dressed in uniform, no slovenly tpical "trucker" appearance. After 4 months I left to do LTL and I've been o/o almost 4 yrs in April.

But to read it on here, that's the one standard way to get your experience; one year at a mega. The cookie cutter approach, to quote @TripleSix "the path of least resistance".

why dont you do 1099 and $2500 flat rate a week, why do you think u can outplay megas in w2 style ?im going to be independent authority in couple months after i stack up some funds on current job.
the reason i think chicagoan outfits grow exponentially is 1099 and big source of immigrants like me who doesnt need benefits.
