Truck driver. Mostly OTR. 42 years old. No wife, no kids. And generally no interest in either.

    Still live at home.

Been working since I was 12, went full time at 19 (after graduation from high school),started driving truck at 22.

Why in the world would I pay rent or mortgage on a home I might see once every month or two? And, since I am the PRIMARY income earner in my household, why would I put my parent (who darned near killed herself to keep me off welfare) into the financial position of poverty because I left? To feed some antiquated 1950's ideal of what makes a REAL man?

Horse hockey! A real man takes care of his responsibilities the best he can. And avoids unnecessary responsibilities that are in place just to make every one else in society feel better about their own struggles.

I will continue to live in my (PAID FOR) home with my parent, living up to the responsibilities I willingly accepted, and screw society's "expectations". And enjoy the financial freedoms that come with. I pay the Bill's, maintain a comfortable lifestyle for myself and my parent, and all you old timers can mutter into your beards and bugger off.

I think all difficulties in trucking are nothing if you can’t do soul selling, ball licking of corporate jobs.

They're not Engineering degrees. 90% of college degrees are wastes of money.

A few months ago my girlfriend told me she wanted us to live together in the home she owns .
I immediately said sounds great but no way it's happening until your blood sucking 30 year old daughter and her hubby move out ....a month later they were gone .
What's up with these kids nowadays that want to live with mom forever ?
I get that there's circumstances that warrant it but when I turned 18 I couldn't move out fast enough !

I was the same way. I had to live by THEIR rules.

I couldn't wait to have my own rules. NONE. And unlimited drinking of beer.

Would you have made the same decision if her 30 year old daughter was a hottie and flirted with you?

Amen ! My first pad always had a keg in the fridge and an empty or 2 in the living room corner ...right where my mom could see it when she visited .

-30 years old living at home with mom
    -Bloodsucking
    -husband
    - Homeowner mom listened and gave Mr and Mrs Bloodsucker the boot

(how the "IF" would have played out)

Mrs Bloodsucker doesn't like Mr @bzinger. She tells her mom that he's no good. Mom doesn't believe her. So Bloodsucker put on her short shorts and see through top and prances around the house. She catches Mr Bzinger watching and she knows she has him. She makes her approach, rubs the soldier and and starts singing Sheena Easton's "Sugar Walls." The soldier stands at attention, Mr Bzinger accepts the offer, and Bloodsucker takes the audio/video to mom and says, "I told you so."

Or Mr Bzinger knocks the bottom out of it and Mr Bloodsucker finds out. They have a big fight, police are called, arrests are made.

Ever play Poke Her? You don't bet the house on a 1 night stand.
