It seems if you land a plane on water safely you can go up to Washington and lobby on behalf of your fellow pilots getting pay cuts and so forth.
Well...
All we need is a truck driver to be a hero and land a semi on water safely so he can go to Washington and tell them about trucking woes!
Now I am not that good of a trucker myself, but if you don't want the limelight I could hide in the sleeper while you land the truck on water (safely!) and then sit in the driver seat and swear it was me!
Good idea right?
PS: You must prove your skills by showing me you can do safely land before I get in truck for real thing hehehe.![]()
I have the answer!

I ended up in water once on/in the S. China Sea but I didn't land........I had to punch out/hit the silk/become a member of the caterpillar club after a S.A.M. came up my pipe & it was either that or take the short route to heaven because I was already at 25,000 feet.

.... Wait thats it, land a truck thats been thrown out of a plane!
-
There ya go! Just like they did in 'Tomb Raider'.
-
I would hope that the truck has a parachute because 20 tons of metal landing in a river with people in it, that could be bad
-
Hate to shoot the idea down, BUT.
Land the truck on the water safely, save only the driver and maybe the co driver.
Not much hope in stirring compassion there.
After all, it was only a truck driver.
-
I would imagine that the impact would be much worse then the waterslide at SixFlags!

What about the hero truck driver a few months ago in Texas? He took a bullet, but safely guided the truck away from other cars. Oh yeah, he's dead, not much of a lobbist.
Roadmedic Thanks this. -
Different perspective:
I am a professional driver going down the road with 80K pounds to include 2100 pounds of potentially lethal diesel fuel or potentially dangerous cargo that could spill, roll-over ect... I drive over a hundred thousand miles every year without so much as a bump or a scrape to my vehicle or another vehicle. Now multiply that by the amount of all the safe drivers out there who never get even a simple pat on the back for being Professional, safe, courteous, and on time..... -
