I do the same. Tryin to cut the soda pop completely out.

Some days I go a little overboard with the coffee, but that’s just to make up for the days when I get stuck in the boonies and have to go without.

    My kryptonite? NOS energy drinks...

Don’t know what or why. But two of those and I can run faster than the wind on three hours of sleep and other than watering plants like Niagara Falls... I’ll drive dead center for hours n hours.

I’ve been off soda for a good while... occasionally I’ll crave a Dr. Pepper or a Mountain Dew but unsweetened tea with a sprinkle of sugar is far better if it’s brewed right.

Black coffee. Hold the cream, ma’am.

I eat a similar diet, salad, meat and, vegies. The problem I have is chips and salsa and, ice cream.

I am very aware of HT and sugar, my dad lost his medical at 54, the end of his air force flying and the Beech 18. My sister has both high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes, me still able to pass first class and dot.

I don't eat a lot of carbs or nearly as many as I used to, potato's once a week at best, multigrain bread when I have a sandwich. The chips and ice cream are just really hard to loose.

It's funny, so many folks spend a ton of money eating out, for fast food prices or less you can eat well, so long as you know how to cook.

Before I was diagnosed with type 2 that was me. I couldn't go a 100 miles without cooling a tire. Had to wake up 3 or 4 times a night to go. Now that I'm under control I sleep thru the night and my dang e-loggers doesn't look like an EKG!!! Lol! That's how the body tries to get rid of sugar.

I need to start on a diet like that myself. There was a time I could slip into size 32 around the waist jeans, then 34 was my mainstay for years. After 27 yrs I quit smoking and eventually ended up in size 38 / 40 jeans. Wife and I are toning it down though..... seems a cruise is planned for January, guess I need to look decent in shorts...??
