UPS Freight Potential Strike? Through the Wire In J.O.C. 11-1-18

seems crazy. that place was always very busy. i quickly counted maybe 10 vehicles. easily 3x that amount there a couple months ago.

 

I dont do ups but I'm ltl. Linehaul don't touch freight and we even have otr 5out2 home. Really only p&,d and hub touch freight. I was otr long ago and I had to do otr here before you can get a bid. Otr here in ltl hands down kill otr truckload. You ain't making 1700-2200 otr unless ltl

 

You will never find a job with better benefits.
You will find more money, but kick yourself in the butt for chasing the dollar down the road .

 

Let's not forget u might find more money but it's gone come with less benefits.

 

I compared health benefits that tmc offers with what ups has. There was practically no difference except tmc insurance was $220 a month, but had a lower out of pocket max for the year.

The pension is another biggie for guys. As it is right now, if you do a 25 year career with freight, youre looking about a 2500/mo pension check before taxes. Im thinking if a driver works for a conpany with a good 401k match and a profit share, they might come out better then a pension. Only good thing with pension is that its guaranteed, unless the company goes out of business. In that case, they can reduce your pension check and all that junk.

 

I just drove past the UPS Freight yard in Commerce City, Co on my way to the TA today. It was wall to wall trailers. They had them packed in nose to tail.

 

i counted 9 vehicles in employee parking over there today.

 

At TMC your going too make less money and be on the road for 5 days.. Alot of company match 6% with there 401k so dont see u coming close too what Ups freight pension pays if this contract pass after the 5 year of this contract it goes up to $115 a month.. cant on Tmc healthcare because I dont know what they offer... If you can find better why u still here? Just curious.

 

Ups is shutting down o/o fuel cards while they're on the road. Unreal.
