Coyote loads are still $1.15/mile like the rest of the non-brokered loads + fsc and UPS fuel discount. Not high end, but you definitely won't starve.

As far as being less-committed, I think you'll find an o/o subcontractor with a $2500 tractor payment + maint + fuel + risk of funding their entire life and family with a single piece of equipment, and who pays for their own health insurance way more committed than someone who rolls up and drives someone else's truck every day while planning to stop working because they cant get their way.

CAPEX and OPEX weren't those TNT companies from back in the 1990s? LOL!

You ARE getting paid top rate at the beginning of yr 4; Look at my checkstubs in the diary.

    2) If the trucks didn't have A/C let your shop steward know. Did you know the current contract makes A/C mandatory on all trucks?

i actually did run last night.

Here is grumpytown (a.k.a. harristown) at approx 11:50pm:

It was pretty barren with not too much activity going on. Normally by this time, there would be inbound trailers backed up to the access road perpendicular to where i was standing. But here we only see 3 sets at most. At least 8, yes 8, jockeys would normally be rushing around like their butts were on fire. There would also be frantic, hectic, almost chaotic activity on the dock. You can see that there are many dock doors open, whereas normally they would all be full. Never seen so many trucks parked, especially the sleeper/team trucks. This begs the question, why didn't they run more people out of H-town vs. me?

i believe we are shut down thursday and friday. No-one runs.

Anyways, i'm tired of posting and thinking about this. So, this is likely my last post in this thread. i really don't give a plop either way. i am going to be doing some runs the rest of the week with my weekend people. This proves my point----i will be doing what i want to do and making a steady cash flow irregardless of what happens.

Let me be a little more clear about this and I have zero stake in this .
I own my truck leased to a carrier and do very well at it on percentage ...rates are up ! And will be for the foreseeable future .
These suited bums behind a desk in any facet of this industry are all about money in they're pocket and couldn't care less about the driver or they're future ....ive made mine but cause I got lucky in some areas .
But I do stand behind the the unions and the resistance to the race to the bottom .
I wish you guys well !

$18, $20, $23, $25.50, THEN its $28.65. So at the start of year 5 is when a driver hits top. Thats a long friggin time. Like I said, UPS makes A LOT of revenue and profit off of those junior guys for their first couple of years of employment.

And good luck playing the contract game with the condition of the trucks. Were lucky if we have ONE mechanic on duty. I just write it up, continuously, in the inspection log. I suppose some guys play the game and will just sit in office until they get a truck they approve of. But I dont do that if I got a whole trailer of freight that I know has to be delivered.

    #### it. They strike all other ltl will pick up. Maybe it will be like first half of year. Rolling into terminals with no where to even drop a set let alone turn around. And Jan is raise time. Maybe ups can help me get more coin. I'm voting NO. I say strike. You brown boys are worth more than what they are giving you.

No sir. I interviewed both brown and FedEx. I can't go through the gauntlet of the low pay and no guarantee for 5 days of work. Wife's in nursing so I need make all Jack I can. P&D not my gig. Needed some where I can run out the gate and make some Jack. Every one knows ups is King but it's a ruff road to get to the top. Thanks to them non Union ltl don't pay bad
