I have a 2015 international pro star with cummins isx15 that was building too much air pressure so I replaced the air drier and govenor with rebuilt from napa 3 days ago, Problem solved, but now when purging air at approx140psi it sounds like a machine gun and increases with cadence when reving the engine with no loss of psi. Pushing down on the brake pedal and lowering psi to approx 115psi will stop it till it builds back up again. Before putting on the new drier I should of drained the tanks bc they were dirty with oil. I've owned this truck for 3wks now and just drained the air from the tanks for the first time. But have only put 1k miles on it thus far.
Plz help with brake air system 2015 international Pro Star

A truck should go to around 120 or so PSI quietly on the Primary, and Seconadary Gauge.
Shut engine off at 120. Put foot on service brake after pushing mr Buttons in. Wait 60 seconds. Your PSI drop should be 4 or less. Then hold.
Fire it back up, set buttons and then build back to 120.
When you park for the night or sleeper time, you drain both tanks if at all possible. Air dryer to handle the rest. -
I can't hear anything but the engine when its building up air pressure only see it go up on the guages. It's after it builds up to the 130psi and releases the short burst of air it will go into machine gun mode

Hm.
The air dryers I know of make a big fart every once in a while. I don't even notice them anymore. Maybe you can put some GasX into your airdryer perhaps?
Or...
Joking aside, have you examined the dryer for algae growth etc. -
I was actually thinking about putting seafoam through the intake of the drierx1Heavy Thanks this.

Will it be ok you take that thing to the company shop and let them look it over a few minutes maybe?
You and I can go back and forth all night here but here is not there, your rig need some TLC and Frankly I am out of ideas. -
Some systems have a quick release valve, or pop off valve, we used to call it. Sometimes it was on the air tank(s) or on drier. When air psi gets to high it lets out a rush of air. Could do it in one big blast or quick multiple ones. When psi builds up, it goes again.wore out Thanks this.

that machine gun sound is generally one of the emergency pressure relief valves.
sounds like mabye the unloader in the compressor is sticking or maybe something still inst right with the governor. you should be kicking out before 140psiHammer166 Thanks this. -
I agree it bout has to be the pop off. Usually when they keep building it's either a faulty governor which has been eliminated already or one of the govenor lines has some blockage. If neither of those then look at the unloader.
Ezrider_48501 Thanks this. -
Adjust the governor down to about 125 probably to high
