Well my issue there is it is a problem that only came after overhaul. So you gotta look where you been so to speak. I guess it could be a connection issue. With the trucks age it could happen no matter how careful you are on the teardown/reassembly process. I can't remember if a mack has an ambient air temp sensor. I have had a couple Detroit's for what ever reason start reading like 50 degrees colder than actual after inframe. It never set a code but you could see it in the data list. Anyway it would change the timing and cause a smoke till it warmed up but still ran ok. I never really figured out what caused it to be off after overhaul but unplugging it would clear the smoke. Changing it cured the problem. Without the pro link it been impossible to find. So maybe it's a similar deal with the Mack. Another thought is it possible to have connections backwards some where?
If oil pressure controls the advance is it possible that its supply is too little or even too much?
Timing issue (maybe) 1993 mack E-7
