If you haul autos you need $1 million liabilty . You don't need a hazmat endorsement or placards to haul autos . The back seat of some trucks (no 1 tons or Ford , GM , Dodge medium duty ) can be made to meet FMCSA requirements but you must meet all requirements including restraints .

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

coonass,
Does acme have trailers that you could use with a 1 ton truck? Also do they have fuel cards? -
I don't think you can rent a minifloat from them but I know you can rent a regular flatbed for a big truck. I could be wrong you would have to check with them.
And yes they have fuel cards (com data). -
Our pickups and 1 tons are running their tails off.
They are the most busy ones, but this is the oilfield. -
thanks, coonass

Mr RickG I believe you are wrong, You do need a hazmat to haul cars. Ask the guys on USHIP, they get stopped for it all the time.
-
There is no hazmat requirement for car haulers. Many of the larger outfits do not have hazmat.
When was the last time you saw a car hauler with placards?
The guys on that board get stopped because alot of them run without authority or with the minimum insurance. When cars are hauled, the minimum insurance is not 750,000 but one million.RickG and luvtheroad Thank this. -
Ask the guys on Uship .

The insurance requirement is because vehicles powered by flammable fuel are hazmat Class 9 UN3166
