Hello folks. I was researching a company using the website that was posted elsewhere on this forum. The SAFER system indicated that the company was ordered Out of Service on Oct. 15.
The reason was: "New Entrant Revoked-Refusal of Audit/No Contact."
What does this mean?

Very simple. DOT wanted to crawl through their books, walk the privacy of their truck lot and examine the freighting, Logging, Mr Fix it shop papers etc. It's a excruciating probe of everything you deem private in a trucking company. Because it's your money they are fussing with.
Company says forgetboutit then proceeds to say up yours to DOT and kick em out.
It's relatively easy for DOT to revoke the uppity Trucking outfit.justa_driver and gekko1323 Thank this. -
It means they were "allegedly" contacted to go through their new entrant audit and they refused to do so or never responded which resulted in the loss of their operating authority. In my case I never got any contact about the audit until the local auditor called me directly and told me they were getting ready to shut down my authority if I didn't give them what they needed. I told them I never got any letters or e-mails about the new entrant audit and they gave me an extension and that was the end of it.justa_driver, Highway_Executive, Lonesome and 2 others Thank this.

Sounds like they didn't respond to request for new entrant audit or refused to do it, so they revoked their authority.
justa_driver and bzinger Thank this. -
Means somebody didn’t show up or answer phones regarding their audit. So the government who issues license, permits, MC #, decided they changed their mind about giving this person authority to operate.
Funny thing the government.justa_driver Thanks this. -
Okay. So what is a "new entrant audit"?
-
An audit of a new entrant...
Read it over n over. It kind of self explanatory...justa_driver, drvrtech77, Badmon and 1 other person Thank this. -
Not really. The company has been operating for over a year. I thought maybe it had to do with a new driver or something.Last edited by a moderator: Nov 20, 2018

The new entrant audit occurs between 6 and 18 months in.justa_driver and gekko1323 Thank this.

Every company that is granted operating authority has to go through a new entrant audit a year or so in. Not really a big deal, just need to show stuff like proof of logs, drug consortium, maintenance plan etc. Some states do it all right online, you just upload everything on there website. This guy either never received his letter or didn't care. You know in advance its coming.
justa_driver and gekko1323 Thank this.
