Heaven is.... ......
Driving home on a dark road with little or no traffic around while CCR is playing on the radio with the volume crancked up. -
talking about 5-7liter of fuel saving comparing to other brands is quite redicolous, this kind of difference is achieved over 25-30years within same brand, on road going vehicles. over last 25-30years engines gain about 8-10% in fuel efficiency everything else is based on lower friction, better aerodinamics detachable auxilary equipment etc. so in construction vehicles difference between old and new truck is even lower. right now i am looking at test from europe leading magazin trucker which is independent considering they have enough money and no need to sell themself.
volvo have 1.54l/100km better fuel efficiency than daf. scania is 620kg lighter despite wrong spec (could be another 260kg lighter if spec same). so claim that traxon is best gearbox is probably fake too.
common practice shows that manufacturers that develop both engine and gearbox in house get better result when it comes to strategy of gearbox.
when it comes to total result
MAX points 1420
DAF 968
MAN 965
Scania 1040
Volvo 1078
scania get 220/240 points in gearbox, daf 146
when it cost to cost of vehicle, maintanance costs, parts cost, reseale value, daf get worst result 37/60 volvo get 48/60
daf is marginal vehicle in construction in europe.
here daf never sold any. MB get 50% -
