And I can say this I would not have it any other way at this point.
I quote. I decide to sink or swim. Daily.
If I can no longer do that I will go to Pitt Ohio because they are awesome IMO.
How do you determine your rates?

Not saying I agree OR disagree with $2 per mile. But $2 per HUB mile is not the same as $2 per loaded mile.
-
Dang straight they ain't the same!
I hope I am not off here...I am just a one man odd operation. But I listen to my O/O friends a lot and I read a lot.
One thing I am sure of is the numbers are all over the place in my brief experience. Good weeks, bad weeks, OK weeks over the years...but if annual average is 2 per hub I would think that would be good for most??? Peanuts to some I imagine though! -
I understand that. I'm leased to a carrier and after they take 25% I still do better than $2.00 a hub mile.
I've been considering getting my own authority, but maybe I'll just stay put.4mer trucker Thanks this. -
So what did you average per hub mile and add the 25% they take......let us know...
-
-
Average of 2.94 per mile ^^ !
Sounds like the high side of good? I have no idea really.
That would absolutely work for me though! -
Ya, they obviously have a lot of contract freight which is going to be different in ones opinion of *good* if they are doing solely spot market stuff. Then I'm guessing it would be low.
I dont think it's the high side, then again I dont really know either... -
You do know what your operating costs are, right?
You know, your fixed costs plus your varible costs plus adjustments to fuel (FSC) and your pay (which is separate to the rest of the operation, you do know that?Nothereoften Thanks this. -
Yep I will shoot for at least... 2.00 a mile and only if there's load with in 50 miles of where I'm delivering to. If not any loads then you need to factor in the truck fuel to get you to where a load is.
Once you get going you should get the hang of it. No all pay top dollar for a load but you can jack it up some. Most will agree to the terms
