So why don't you go get your brokers authority and broker loads and pay better to the independents while keeping less for yourself? You'll have more business than you know what to do with. You tell us why are you hauling cheap freight? I don't see many others #####ing about it.Slowpoke KW, shogun and Ruthless Thank this.

14k in 14 days net hauling what? Bi weekly settlement leased off?

do you care whats on your trailer, where it came from, how it got there and for how cheap? as much as you care about that is how much someone else cares about your cheap freight.
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
I'm not hauling anything atm. I've been parked since sept, trading my futures account. Just look at boards wating for rates to be fair

I'd like to put something into perspective. This is just my opinions,.. nothing personal and nothing meant to be offensive.
Just because we are O/O's and share the road does not mean we work for the same company or share the same personal bills.
When I see another O/O I do not see a friend,.. I see a competitor. A business rival. Someone who would love to steal my customers away from me to get what I have.
So you have to understand,.. this business responds almost entirely on supply and demand. When you have too many trucks competing for the same loads, rates are going to drop. No one is going to stop their truck and refuse load after load while 1500 rookie rons take what ever is posted.
When it gets like this the smart O/O's will have worked out the right customers and brokers to haul for and he will move to what ever lane he needs to be in to get the best rates available. This comes with experience,.. nothing else can teach or show you more than your own trial and error.
There are still some good rates to be had out here. Learn where the good freight is and do not go where it isnt. Let the green horns fight over the scraps. Let those who dont understand rates go broke and fail. The culling of the heard. Rates go down,.. rates go up. This is how the cycle works.
I saw this coming and even made several posts about it. We stash cash and do our best to survive the purge. It will all even out eventually and the cycle will start over.

cke, Lepton1, LoneRanger and 7 others Thank this. -
Yet none of you specifically say what you are hauling and for who. For clarity, this thread orginally started about dry can refer and flat bed loads from the load boards. Spot freight. And a minority of you come on claiming to be earning 400k a year with out any clarification of what you are hualing
