I agree, but it sure does feel like using a shovel for 12 hours a day 6 days a week for minimum wage.

    Rideandrepair and SL3406 Thank this.

I don't know, I've done that, was better than minimum wage actually but I wouldn't go back to it for what I was getting.

I still fail to see how you guys make a snap call on a rate per mile without knowing what the expenses are.

Is the tractor new - $800 month for liability or Casper like $170?

Is the payment $2800 month or $900 month?

Fuel. Anyone with any brains is using NASTC fuel card. That's good for an average of 40 cents gallon off at TA/Petro.

Trailer? We don't need no stinking trailer.

The list of variables is endless.

But, bang, unless you average $X.YZ you're toast. Going broke.

Let alone if you have a DEF truck. ZOMG. Just kill yourself right?

    Cummins????

    OMG.
    OMG.
    OMFG.

Better just take all your money, give it to Rawze, then just kill yourself.

My New Year's resolution: getting NASTC card. Heck, I'll even go to Nashville or wherever.

And this week will probably surpass my record B&G week.

    BUT ( Disclaimer )
    1) Alot more miles / work involved.
    2) I didn't even want it lol.

I used that before I came to Landstar. And no BS, regularly saw discount in the $0.60 range.

My wife and I just hauled a load across the country for two dollars per mile after the split. It worked out to $1.98 per mile. Is that cheap freight?
