It helps to agree on where you will stop after the pull. You don't want the pulee to get ahead and put slack on the tow line. They often want to do all that they can to get out, but it's really the puller that should do most of the work. Not all, but most.

All the pulee needs to do is not spin tires and jump ahead when they do get traction. Just an easy pull out with maybe some throttle to make it easier.

NO EMPUJEN ...you see it on every tomato trailer, grape trailer, or any other kind of harvest hauler out here. And they still get bashed in.
Something about a set of over loaded tomato trailers mud-mired clear to the hubs just shouts out CHALLEGE to a cat skinner with more cojones than good sense.

Back on topic..If serious pulling is required I want a 1 1/2 inch bull line off of a winch on the back of a D6, 7, or 8 and a cat skinner that I can communicate in English with.

Tug Toy, Feedman, cke and 1 other person Thank this.

You should actually be rated for twice your gvw or your gvw and double the sling . If your spin out out on ice on hard ground ,no. But if your actally needing a pull or doing something serious then yes .
Yes I have been there , yes I have been on the back of big cats and tow tractors in some pretty fun country .
On the farm I will use big chain and a old tractor tire , lol
