Thats a #### shame, if you think so at the time i was currently making 28.35 an hr at estes doing ltl full day work overtime after 55. So if you willing take 20hrs you apart of the cheap driver problem.

You were making 28.35 at Estes? That's great, good for you, but I couldn't careless, isn't that top out for for pedal routes there? Even WITH over time you weren't cracking 50/hr and you didn't see that until AFTER 55 hours so how that is relevant is beyond me. NOBODY and I mean NOBODY is paying 50/hr for a #### thing related to truck driving where I'm at, so my initial statement still holds true. Where you get the impression I'm "part of the cheap driver problem" is beyond me. I think you're reaching a bit there. By the way, I quit the slave trade of driving months ago. I make double if not more than I ever did driving a truck, running a small business as a one man show. So you do you, and I'll do me.

Congratulations and thanks, my point i was trying to make reading your comment was sayin “nobody would pay 50.00 n hr that when it wasnt far off from the daily pay” because when you do the math about my original post it comes out to 200.00 to 250 dollars a day. Remember i said it was part time for 4-5 hours only a few times week. So if 3 times a week that 750 cash which is good since he was paying cash. Thats easy money to put away in my savings. Literally at that time i was trying to find anything extra so i could put away to buy my truck n trailer. I think that what was main reason it gotten me upset about him. It reminded me to never depend on working for someone.

Either way, in the end I think you took my post out of context and we ended up in a conversation about something neither of us necessarily intended. I've been in a similar position myself. I'm the last one to settle for pay that isn't indicative of what I'm worth as a driver. After my last job ended due to the owner selling his 7 trucks, I went months looking for a legitimate job in my area, and there wasn't anything worth my time and effort, not to mention hassles from DOT, the cops, etc etc for me to even think about dealing with the BS. But that's just in my area and what I've personally observed from talking to a multitude of different types of companies. In other areas that's not the case, and there are great jobs. There are some great jobs here, but they're taken and when people get a hold of them, they don't let go. After really thinking about it, I threw a little cash together, bout some "ok" equipment for the industry I was looking to get into, and now I make well over what I ever made driving a truck, and I made anywhere from 800 on slow weeks to 1600 on good weeks driving a rig locally. I miss it, but I don't miss the BS. This is 2018, there are quite a few ways to start a business and make some good $$$ with half the hassle and headache if you have different skill sets. I wish you the best.

He’s offering to pay cash under the table and it’s a big surprise the guy isn’t on the up and up?
