My current card doesn't expire until May of 2019. I lost my actual card. I went in for a job interview and upon telling them I lost my card. They sent me in for another physical. Well the doctor declined me my card for answering yes to a question about my past.. So I'm asking can I just go get a copy of my old card from the doctor and start work on Monday. Or is my current card no longer valid. Im not worried about my drug screen because I know it's negative.

If you answered a question one way for one exam and answered it another way which possiby detected a medical condition, drug use or some other issue that caused a doctor to decline to issue a card to you.. well. We don't know what it is and cannot be precise.

I usually retain a original copy over the years DOT Cards have no value to companies who ship you right out for another physical.

Consider that a whole section on DOT Medical in the DOT Regulations and FMCSA is invalid to the entire industry because the stupid companies send everyone to yet another physical. That will have to be stopped.

We are not. I'm sure the new company will want proof though. That's if the new company will even accept an old card.

As for the op, why not get a dr appointment and get him to write the letter needed? Just tell him what happened, all of it, and he likely will sign off. Worst case is he says no and to go get a sap. You will be in no worse shape than now.

I don't have a primary care doctor. You think I could just go to a clinic and talk to the doctor. I don't have a drug problem. I only hit a blunt a couple of times at a party while watching Thursday night football. I actually hate the smell of weed. I'm also wondering if I could just go get a second opinion at another dot medical examiner

Also I know the new job was willing to accept the old card if I had it at first

I've heard I can get a second opinion... Should I just go get another physical and lie this time about my past

That's not a second opinion, that's Dr. shopping.
A second opinion is fine. Dr. shopping is illegal.

The difference is if you lie to the second Dr. or not. You can go get another physical, but you have to tell the Dr. the same thing you told the first one.
You might wanna call a second dot physical place and ask them what will happen if you answer yes to that question. That Dr. may not care.
