I have the same problem with my motor. The problem is that the MXS and almost all ACERT CAT motors like the warmer air. Think about this you have cold air temp (say 20 degrees) and then the air is sent through the CAC...what happens, the air is chilled even more. This situation happens to many of the ACERTs depending on the ecm programing. I was gonna try a winterfront, but never got around to it this past winter. This problem happened in the early days of trucking when the OEM's were just starting to use CAC. If ya have any doubts about this call Bruce out at Diesel Injection of Pittsburgh.

If all your maintenance is ok then I would be checking for codes pulled from your ECM! Are you loading up on fuel conditioner for cold weather? This has some effect to your mpg
