No it never shut down it just would have no throttle you would push the pedal and that was it then after 4 or 5 mins the light would go off and I would get my throttle back! And the only thing it showed for the light was oil temp high and low volts
2001 international 4700, no throttle with warning light

"...International fuel pedal issue.."
Dead pedal at different times and out of no where complete dead pedal unless i stared truck with pedal on the floor and let up to 1500 rmp after start..i was able to rev but the moment i released pedal warn light came on and no pedal..
Look at your metal pedal housing there's a 3/8's bolt that may come slightly loose and you not know it and let the truck run while doing this and loosen the sensor screws as well just ever so slightly you you can adjust pedal as needed and light will go out and you'll be able to rev it with your hand..tighten everything up and your good to go..
Hope this helps others as some information on these forums has led me to the issue's and some has made better sense of my issue's..
Giving back is what its all about..

Alright here goes nothing. So my friend has a 2000 International 8100 with a cat C10 Diesel motor, while accelerating a warning light comes on and the dump truck returns to idle while driving, however it won't accelerate past 40 miles and hour. So we turn the truck off for awhile then restarted it and drove a few blocks and it did the same thing all over again, we hooked it up to a computer and there isn't no codes thrown, we have added oil because the truck was low on oil but still the same thing happens over and over returning to idle while driving. Any ideas on what the cause of this could be?
