Hello,
I've been on here before and took time away to work. I worked for a moving company driving class b trucks. The school I went to promised a job but, let's just say the promise had conditions they didn't tell me. Now I'm ready to put my Class A CDL license to use. I've been offered jobs pretty much at EVERY COMPANY. Werner, Western Express, Melton, Roehl, Butler, Prime, Cargo Transportation, Swift, CRST, Freymiller, etc. you name it. I have a clean background so pretty much can go anywhere so wondering, what is a good place to start? Melton has been calling non stop lol and seems like my pick but just want to hear input from the Vets.
Which Co is good & as a rookie what Co/position should I consider

First question is your location.
Next question- what kind of trucking are you looking to do? Dry van, reefer, flatbed, car hauling, tank, etc
I came into trucking with only class b experience myself. I found a company local to me that was willing to work with me. I personally prefer my small company.
Even if a place doesn't advertise that they train, try anyways. My company didn't but my hiring actually spawned a training program because I was a success
Follow some of the threads on here outlining career beginnings. Lots to pick up on.
Good luck!homeskillet, Just passing by, Dan.S and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'm in North Carolina now. I had to stay home cause of my kids so took a class b job. Now I can go on the road for a few weeks and be back. Honestly don't know what I want to do regarding what type. I would prefer local but every job asks for experience so, not even bothering.

Where are you in North Carolina; might be some local stuff there if you let us know.
I'd go with Freymiller (refrigerated) or Danny Herman Trucking (dry van).

If you want teams, look at Bottomley Enterprises Inc. in Ennice, North Carolina.

Durham and freymiller doesn't have a women driver right now to train and didn't apply at danny herman. How are they? I really want local but all these companies want some kind of experience especially if your a woman.

Danny Herman has an excellent reputation; lots of southern California runs and NO northeast runs.
