What would you buy? Will be pulling dry van in Midwest. Both are Automatic and have around 430,000 miles. Kenworth has 750K warranty left. Has been drove as a team truck but bad thing it does not have APU. Warranty work has been very little a few issues with heater and AC unit and lighting. Had 19 over 10 hour idle time.
Will get oil samples for this as well.
Volvo has APU and bunk heater no warranty left but looks to be in good shape. Waiting on ECM download and oil samples. Started up better then all the other Volvo’s I have drove and ran great.

Volvo Ishift has 750k warranty if proper maintenance was performed.
What engine is in the KW? -
-
How heavy will the loads be? I think with the right rear end gearing the Volvo do better on mpg.
Look to see if the Volvo is an XE packaged. Should come with 2.64 rears.Siinman Thanks this. -
Yes the Volvo does have 2.64. Kenworth aver 7.8 mpg. Still need to check in the morning on Volvo. Have another test drive set up.

Forgot to mention. #1 problem with the Volvo D13 engine is the Injector cup. See if they been replaced at least once. If they have not been its 6k at a Volvo dealership and 4k at an independent shop but they may not offer a warranty. Dealer offer 100k miles or 1 year from date of installation.
I have a 2010 630 with 1.1 million and still pulls great. Doesnt lose any oil between 15k oil changes.Siinman Thanks this. -

Honestly there are several telltale signs but usually losing prime is the last straw and should be taken in for a new 6pack. On my orginal copper cups I milked it to about 500k then had 2...... 6 packs dropped in 3 months.
