My experience was all commission based. 150-250 bucks a day was my typical range.

Whoa Bucko! You have to wait a few weeks before you can start cutting ice

We used to chop out of a good fresh lake, load into a sawdust wagon and deliver it to a place that kept a subbasement, also in sawdust. Come summer there will still be some in there ready to be picked out to chill that mint juliep.
Even after a nuclear war, we will have ice delivered. Only then it will be worth fighting over.
