Is this a good deal? Free CDL training, .46cpm and 1 year contract?

I'm about to hop into bed with a company that offers free CDL training and immediate placement, contingent upon a one year contract. Now, I haven't got a chance to look at the contract, and I'm really wondering what I'm getting into. They are offering 45c pr/mi as well. What do you think, boys? What is usually in those contracts, besides the standard non-compete clause?

Read the fine print or have a lawyer take a look at it.

Hundreds of drivers do that every week. A few don't succeed, but most do.
Just get your cdl and finish the contract; it's only for 12 months.

One of the guys I spoke to said I'd take home about $1250 pr/wk. At 46c pr/mi and being a rookie driver is this realistic? Or is this guy trying to fleece me? Does this sound right, m8?

$.46 cpm plus accessorial pays. New drivers forget about accessorial pays.

Still a first year driver here I average more than that. It's perfectly realistic. I earn .40 per mile, not .46. I do team drive so, still earn when I sleep in my codriver is at the wheel. We are also paid every time we hit a dock or stop to make a pick up. So pay attention to their accessory pays because it makes the different between and OK check and a good one. Miles will be the majority of your paycheck but you want additional earnings for other labor.

What I like about trucking besides the lifestyle is if you work harder, you are paid more. In the past working salary jobs I would just go to sleep more tired and stressed out. Last week I ran the north east again for the second time. I don't like it at all. But I'm expecting about 2500 (net or gross not sure I can't remember ) should be deposited into my bank in a few hours. Work HARD. Get paid.
