I was wrong. E-logs save lives

Exactly, I can see if they took the hos and somehow applied so it was an actual preventative to keep companies from pushing drivers beyond their limits, but I'm not sure how that would work. They could say if you've been driving for 5 years and never had a reportable accident you don't need a log book, there's better ways to do it but nobody with money is interested in that.

 

Greg could choose to stare at a wall for 10 hrs off duty. Doesn’t make him more rested, just that he obeyed laws people who never cranked a truck made.

 

200 miles? Greg stops, goes in Petro, has dinner, sleeps as a rhinoceros.

 

So Greg lives in Oregon or someplace and smokes a bunch of ganja, and has a 19 year old girl friend?

 

Let say Greg just keeps on trucking to get home. He only has 1 hour to drive but at 45 minutes he get in bad accident. Greg was to tired and killed someone. Let's say Greg kills your family member. Do you say, It's OK Greg was just trying to get home it's no big deal he killed my family member. Or do you blame Greg and sue him? Because if just stopped like the law said, nobody would have been killed.

 

Questions:
1. Does this family member have a terminal illness?
2. Are they a contributing member of society?
3. How close are we, like first name basis or “hey, man” at family get togethers since I don’t know their name?
4. Am I in their written will?
5. Were they in route to commit a felony?
6. Did I owe them money?
7. Will the attorney take the case on contingency?
8. Who is Greg’s insurer?
9. Does Greg’s insurance company typically settle or draw the case out?

 

Greg always swore he would never pay for reserved parking..
Greg uses paper logs and is really really tired again. He pulls in a Pilot and parks on the end of the row making it difficult for the real truck drivers to get to the fuel islands.
The manager tells Greg he can pay for a reserved spot and move there or he has to go on down the road.
Greg is still really tired but he knows the Petro 45 minutes down the highway will have a lot of empty parking spots.

Does Greg drive tired?

 

Obviously. He drove home tired so he is certainly going to the Petro to save money. If he has an accident it won’t be his fault anyway. The guy at the Pilot told him to move.

 

Greg is using paper logs and believes that if he’s away from his home and his family then these wheels will be turning and earning.
