You can use that experience at the USPS I believe. Great job for veterans and veterans get preference in the hiring process.
Also Trimac takes military experience. I believe also. -
Thank you

Schneider Bulk (tankers) pays really well and has "VA Military Apprenticeship Program", which means you can make an additional $1200 or so a month extra for about 12 months. This is on top of the Schneider Bulk pay. Ask Schneider Bulk if they will hire you, living in Raleigh. They will also reimburse cdl school tuition up to $7000.00 directly to you in monthly installments.
Probably make $60K - $65K your first year there.

What is your plan on cdl school? Can you use the GI Bill or will you attend a private cdl school or trucking company cdl school?
-
Bulk fuel tank drivers do ok. Home every night. 60k average.

I only have my permit now I was gonna gonna take the hazmat test this upcoming week . I dont really know about schools because I have to have a source of income to uphold my home and family. I looked into using the GI bill to pay for school but I was told some companies may hire me with my permit and give me out using my military years as experience. Any suggestions?

Large companies definitely wont hire you without a 160 hour school. Try small mom and pop companies.

That would be great being home.evry night but my first year I'm all about running to get good miles and experience plus I've read alot of job postings and main priority is safety and no incidents. I really want to have a clean record and be well rounded I willing to learn I'm still young and with 5 children not retiring any time soon.

I was in the Military. I have a fantastic VA Physician and even though the VA neurologist is a tool they send me out to a local clinic for my Epilepsy care. Maybe half the places I go to eat offer both a military and a VA discount. I have even got discounts on clothing. In the OPs case, he was doing something people around here do a lot. Rattling off that MOS. 92F I did not take the OPs 92f comment as being a search for special treatment as much as it was using a military term that can be like Greek to some to describe his experience.. I know some retired 92Fs and remember the Air Force equivalent from my time.
