Wild West Express is the worst company ever!!!!!

You're right, it is. Good drivers are hard to find and good mechanics are real scarce.
Truth be told, they're both necessary to keeping this outfit going. We couldn't make it without good drivers and good guys in the shop.
A bad driver becomes apparent pretty quick. A bad mechanic's goof ups might not show up for awhile and when they do they usually cost a bundle.
We're lucky. Our drivers and mechanics stay with us. I hear horror stories from other outfits though.

 

Driver's are a dime a dozen. This is shown as fact by how even the worse companies have a full class every week for orientation. Driving a truck takes only the bare minimum of education.

While every group of employees is important to a company, from the ceo down to the guy that cleans the toilets, if i had to pick one group as having the most influence on the success of the company it certainly wouldn't be the drivers. Id put my money on a good sales team.

 

Who needs mechanics, when everyone is buying a new truck with a warranty every 3 years.
I wish I could find a small company with real competent mechanics. If this were true they would have eld exempt trucks in use.

 

Uhm no. There are repair shops.

No monkey behind the wheel and the truck sits.

No mechanics anymore. Part changing computer nerds is all that is left.

 

This is a rather pointless argument but for the sake of boredom let me point out that without a mechanic available somewhere, somehow a truck will move for a while but Murphy will guarantee it will stop eventually no matter what the monkey does.
And also if toilets never get cleaned they eventually get dirty(especially when certain truckers are known to use them)

Which is worse? A bad doctor or a bad mechanic.

A mechanic. Because the worse thing a bad doctor can do is kill you and then your survivors can sue for millions but a bad mechanic can make your life a total misery.

 

You just described our company. Our mechanics are the reason we almost never have trucks broke down by the side of the road. They fix things when they need to be fixed and they do the job right.

 

I beg to differ. We have mechanics that can actually fix things. They can also weld, fabricate, and we do most of our component overhauls in house.
We figure our mechanics don't really cost us, they make money for us by keeping the trucks on the road where they belong. Maintenance costs nothing compared to down time and the resulting loss of revenue.
The newest mechanic we have has been here six years and he's the son of another of our mechanics. Our oldest mechanic has been here over thirty years. They keep us going, same as the drivers.

 

Wild West Express is not reputable. They will lie to you just as they did to me. Find a better option drivers. The economy is booming and it is easy to find a better company. Good luck
