    You’ve posed a difficult question, for 2 reasons.

    #1 You imply that upon discovering an intruder, that he be approached with the threat of deadly force.

    #2 I’ve always taught my kids that, if you pull a weapon. Your next action MUST be, drop the hammer. If you’re in so much fear for your life you feel you need the gun. The moment after pulling it, is not the time to be rethinking the situation. That time has long since passed.

    In this case, I would probably conceal the weapon (in hand) out of sight. If the intruder done anything that I perceived as threatening me with bodily harm. I’d point and click.

    Every scenario is different, but the same. The end result is always the same. The situation either de-escalates, or escalates.

    nothing wrong with metallica, i am (and have been) a huge fan. i was referencing “don’t tread on me” in the background as he embarks on a fruitless journey of arguing with government officials. misuse of a good music.

    at no point does destruction of property = destruction of life. i agree 100% with blair on the option of life. when the tide turns from robbery to assault is when it starts getting fuzzy.
