From the outside looking in. I was brokered to pull their loads at Subaru of Indiana for 2 months. I have no idea how they have kept their contract at SIA. They shut the plant down at least 3 times in the short time I was there. They sent me to Battle Creek with a trailer loaded with parts that I had to turn around and bring back. (auto freight, a lot of times the empty racks and loaded racks are so close together in weight that you can't tell, and the racks are loaded so you can't see in.) 3 layers of SOP that all failed. I had the right trailer, right paperwork, but the trailer just never got unloaded and was marked MT. LOL Didn't bother me. Easy money.
They were paying me more in one day than their drivers got in a week.
Their equipment IS total crap, I was pulling their trailers, had to adjust the brakes on 90% of them, constant flat tires that had been ran flat for God knows how long. Rub rails cracked, missing multiple rivets. You could see the aluminum shavings all over the lot. Air leaks galore. Bumpers and doors falling off. When you red tag the trailer they just rip the tag off and put it back in service. They are scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to drivers. They just can't drive, have no idea how to pretrip a truck or simply don't care, and the office knows their drivers will just pull the crap. 3 wrecks while I was there. One of them was between two of their own drivers. One driver forgot he had a trailer on and ran right over another company truck. LMAO! Hell I almost got my own truck destroyed no less than 5 times in the lot.
Unorganized support staff (nice enough people, just no clue as to how to get a job done except abuse drivers) The only drivers there that were some what happy were the part time retired drivers who really didn't give a crap about working there they just wanted something to do to fill their day.
The operations was so bad that I gave up $6k a week for less than 1,000 miles. I can only put up with so much BS no matter what it pays.
Yes, very bad company to work for... Do yourself a favor and just pass by their daily Craigslist ad.I had thought about calling the DOT on them, but had forgotten until this post. I think I'll give them a New Years gift.dryman, Anonymousproxy, sevenmph and 2 others Thank this. -

IMO they are a non-mega with mega practices and attitudes.
dryman Thanks this. -
...and yet companies like Alex Logistics push drivers to keep going with at least equipment that mechanics on major truck stops call as unsafe while performing oil change or something else on a truck. They(dispatch or owners) just say we fix it in our shop and than make you drive sometimes weeks without letting you come to "hometown". Sometimes when you finally there they say its OK, you can still make "few thousands' on this or that.
PS
And when they are hit by multiple fines, insurance claims and brokers penalties( due to inability to deliver on time after breakdowns and accidents) they just slowly stop paying employees ( just week or two in the beginning to "keep them running" ) and than switch to different name either by bankrupting or closing but first "selling" as much as possible (including that questionable equipment) to new entity.
Look at Alex Logistics that some claim now is Natex Freight System ( and one of Alex Logistic's owners had bunch companies including some with "Natex" word, like Natex Boxing for example, so I very much believe it may be correct )Last edited: Jan 5, 2019
