You are 100% correct Joe. But big trucking and the FMCSA will move the goal posts and claim victory no matter what the data shows.

I kinda agree with this, but for one point. It's not so much "what the data shows" and moving the goalposts, but they will never allow true data to be shown. Likely why it's so easy to find all sorts of wrecks and fatality stats for cars based on VMT, but none for trucks.

Thanks you. I seen that and like it says it's only until 2016. Maybe they simply always run two years behind, I was just hoping to find something more recent

Like I posted earlier, when your driving a truck that is not casterated and not fighting a computer you are safer and better rested and relaxed.
But also, a man has to know his limitations.

Yep. Spinners will spin it, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to add 2+2

It also doesn't take a scientist to figure out when you put a electronic stopwatch on a driver they tend to work faster. Not safer. But your right, it will be spun to the shiny object of a fake driver shortage in the left hand, while the right hand keeps hiring sub par, undertrained drivers. all in the name of safety and apparently some deep pockets.

    Amen brother.

No matter. Soon the ignorant masses will be extolling the virtues of the 65 mph speed limiter mandate.....all in the name of safety of course.
