Hmmm, Interesting situation, it is impossible to know how threatened the shooter felt without knowing the environment they were in. Likely a case of self defense...but hopefully all available safe means of resolving the threat were exhausted prior to blowing the guy away.

Many nights I was in my sleeper only to get a knock on the truck. I would peak through and watch until they walked away, then I'd lay back down, only because I didn't wanna be bothered by some stupid #### asking for money or sex. If they returned, we had a problem. -
Shoot to kill. You felt threatened. drag body in home.
not necessarily, in that order.... -
I forgot.... Say, a Prayer.

If somebody breaks into my house I will shoot first (or knock them upside the head with a baseball bat or frying pan, whichever happens to be closest to hand) and ask questions later. I would much rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6, and I assume that anyone entering my home without permission intends harm to me or mine.
I read an article a little while back about a small town in GA where the city passed an ordinance requiring the head of every household to purchase and maintain a firearm for household defense, and the crime rate in that town dropped to almost nothing overnight.
If we got out of the mindset of waiting for someone else to come save us and started taking responsibility for our own defense instead of acting like sheep waiting for the wolf to come along there would be a lot fewer badguys in this country.Joetro, PappyGT13, leannamarie and 4 others Thank this. -
