If he stopped he would've been blamed for the accident, even though it was clearly the cop's fault. If he gets caught now, he will be thrown the book. If he gets away, he wins.

He went bear hunting. Score one for the driver.

Trooper cuts across 3 lanes and comes to a stop on a snow covered road in front of a semi. Lights or no lights, that's stupid. You can tell by the angle of the truck, he was trying to avoid hitting the cop. Cop was hit with the trailer, so I think the driver thought he missed him and didn't realize he had hit him, since he didn't feel it and was focused on avoiding the other vehicles, either looking ahead, or looking in his left mirror as he was moving left. No one in their right mind would hit a cop and try to run in a big truck. It's 100% on the cop and the driver didn't purposely leave the scene of an accident. The fact that the video is so short tells me, the cop is just trying to cover his own butt.

    Very Well Could be.

Society is conditioned to think cops/law are the Holy Grail and never make errors and are on the highest standard.

So easy for everyone to say "Shoulda stopped"

I think that driver was going to the far right lane which was open, and that stupid cop cut him off, without his red and blues on. So the driver took evasive action and went left in a last ditch effort to avoid a horrible accident.

Did he feel the trailer impact the cop? Maybe, but I believe he was so focused on avoiding a crash, and not crapping his pants that he probably thought he missed the cop.

I think I still would have stopped... Id have had to change into some clean underwear.

Short clip is very, very suspicious.

I think that's very true. Cops know this, and count on that conditioning to skirt the rules.

I had an uncle who once said that most cops would be criminals, if they weren't cops. That always stuck with me, and I think there's a lot of truth in that. I've known a lot of dishonest cops. Never knew an honest cop.

Who the hell would hit a cop and try to run, in a semi, on a snow covered road? I'm no math major, but it doesn't add up.

It’s very possible the driver didn’t realize he hit the cop car.

I had a car alongside me on a 3 lane interstate that was arguing with his girlfriend. When he swung to hit her he jerked the wheel and drove right into the side of my trailer.

I never felt a thing and wouldn’t have known it until I saw them spinning in my mirror.

I’m not condoning the drivers actions but you just don’t know.

Wonder when that news will make it to my local sheriffs office

Airports can be shifted with the amount of lights their unmarked SUVs have...

Lol. He was a vice president of a corporation that made packaging (for Frito-Lay, Brach's, etc.), and a Korean War vet. IMHO, no. He was a nice guy who made a #### good living because he was good at sales and worked hard. He was one of those guys who had books on every subject, and knew quite a bit about everything. I trust the veracity of his claims.
