I had all of the drives replaced on the truck when I picked it up at the yard. 76 miles later the rear dual outside peeled just like that.
Um, what causes this?

I Guess Im confused...it looks like only the center tread fell out. I was under the assumption that the recap was the one piece of tread going across the tire, and wrapped around.
-
Your lucky, every recap I've had blow on the drives blew the #### mudflap clean off. Hell I had one on the front tandem blow and it blew the mudflap out of the metal framing while breaking and bending the metal all to hell.
-
Not that lucky, on the way to the tire shop (because Schneider was like BUT YOUR ONLY 3 MILES AWAY FROM THE TIRE SHOP!) the remaining tread came off and ripped the mudflap off and bent the crap out of the bracket. Of course, Schnieder got the tire fixed and was like MUDFLAP NOT DOT VIOLATION DENIED! -_-
-
Mudflap is DOT violation if you don't have a trailer.
-
That's why I pay the extra $$ and get virgin rubber.:smt025

Recrappers blow thats why i dont use um id run used on the trailer before i bought a recrap.
in a real good hot day they blow all over hit ok or tx mid summer and look at all the gators -
Sure looks like they forgot to glue it on, Just wrap some duc-tape around it.
-
That's for sure. The heat is the worse and we went through a few nice finders to prove to the company penny pinchers that new rubber was much better and cheaper in the long run. We were lucky that we ran super singles on the trailers and when I retired a few years ago they had no good way to cap a S/S. I heard they were working on them but I sure wouldn't trust it. -
I found years ago that buying used tires for my 4wheeler pickups was more expensive than getting new tires. Just a thot.
