Man fatally shot breaking into truck sleeper cab in Knox County

Hmmm, Interesting situation, it is impossible to know how threatened the shooter felt without knowing the environment they were in. Likely a case of self defense...but hopefully all available safe means of resolving the threat were exhausted prior to blowing the guy away.

 

Hummm Idon't think if you are getting woke up by a person or may-be persons breaking into your truck, you are going to ask ....May I help You? Do you have a gun? do you intend to do harm to me? What can I do for you today? BLAH Blah Blah...Let's see by this time your mouth is moving and your neck is broken... Humm can you shoot him now? You loose, scum bag wins... So we are all sitting here saying whata nice guy he WAS... I'm shooting first and asking questions later. OH I don't carry, so I'm breaking his neck and talking nice to him later... of course dead men tell no tails.. If I hurt your feelings, well better that than ended your life. So you understand this is not an attack on your person just the position you take on this topic.

 

What? The driver gave the guy 2 chances prior to getting his ### blown off the planet.

Many nights I was in my sleeper only to get a knock on the truck. I would peak through and watch until they walked away, then I'd lay back down, only because I didn't wanna be bothered by some stupid #### asking for money or sex. If they returned, we had a problem.

 

Shoot to kill. You felt threatened. drag body in home.

If somebody breaks into my house I will shoot first (or knock them upside the head with a baseball bat or frying pan, whichever happens to be closest to hand) and ask questions later. I would much rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6, and I assume that anyone entering my home without permission intends harm to me or mine.

I read an article a little while back about a small town in GA where the city passed an ordinance requiring the head of every household to purchase and maintain a firearm for household defense, and the crime rate in that town dropped to almost nothing overnight.

If we got out of the mindset of waiting for someone else to come save us and started taking responsibility for our own defense instead of acting like sheep waiting for the wolf to come along there would be a lot fewer badguys in this country.

 

Thats right and the towns name is Kennasaw they have the LOWEST crime rate in the nation....cuz criminals know that EVERY home owner has a Gun REQUIRED BY LAW and they would rather not get shot...so they the criminals move to states like Illinois that wont let homeowners or citizens own guns..
