Ya know I hate to be that guy that comes back. But this is worth it. You know me pretty well triple 6.
OP I gotta ask you do you have any idea what oil cost? Drums? Brake shoes? Shocks? Universal joints and lots a drive shafts. Did I mention rear ends?
Wait that's all refurbished so it wont break. Keep telling yourself that. You know what happens to a rental car a truck is worse.
All that said let me put this on ya. You want to rent this truck. To an owner operator I assume that has one broke down and needs to run while his is in the shop. An O/O that has to have a plush Pete on paper as a rental is the kinda guy that does his own work or goes on vacation when he is broke down. You can not believe the real numbers offered that's your business. But I'm say this ol Blair has a crapper in his ride. You really gonna have to hump up to keep up with him. Any guy that carries his own crapper is prepared for anything. What I'm trying to tell ya is you want your own crapper? Follow the man that gots one and pay attention

I run older equipment. Just recently purchased and redoing a 1996 KW W900L and it has things like fridge, freezer, microwave, couch, fold down bed, etc. Personally as an owner this is the best for me and my wallet.
Strictly as a driver, you can get this in new trucks as well. A driver really doesn’t care about emission stuff since they aren’t paying repairs.
The only thing new trucks really have that old ones don’t, is quietness. A new truck with insulation and seals tends to keep road noise down significantly compared to an older truck.Oxbow and Peterbuilt1013 Thank this. -

Great point! .. Didn't think of that.

@Peterbuilt1013 , if you can have it ready by June, I'd like to rent that Pete on a run I've committed to. The freightliners just dont hold up in my opinion. I made 166 last year, I'm going for 200 this time. I ain't ####ing around.

If I was buying trucks for other drivers to run, I would get 2014-2015 cascadias with detroits and 10spds, dpf delete, install inverter and small refrigerator and microwave.
Very cost effective. -
Delete DPF? They will notice that you put a hole in the DPF filter when they climb under your truck for an inspection. That fine is about 15-25 k . I'm assuming they inspect that filter when inspecting the brakes, tires, air pressure during roadside inspection

Yeah... you’re new and it’s ok.
First, it’s impossible to tell unless you take a few pieces off which dot and carb are not allowed to touch your truck with a tool. If you even see them with an air guage you better tell them to put it away and grab a thumper instead. It will NEVER be known. Second, rates suck so I just don’t do California.Socal Xpress Thanks this. -
New trucks are alot quieter. Because they are on the shoulder not running.
Opendeckin, SL3406, kwswan and 1 other person Thank this.
