Those 780s with workstations don’t have mattresses, terrible design but I guess options are limited in that setup. If Abilene’s new 760s are standard double bunk setups the mattress they use now is amazing, similar to a tempur pedic mattress I would say. However the top bunk is a foam wrapped metal frame with a cover, id certainly want a mattress pad for that.MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this.

Exactly correct. @Evomalo does not work for our little slice of “heaven” anymore.MidWest_MacDaddy, Finfn1372 and MACK E-6 Thank this. -
I left Abilene last June. I have a local job now working the ports.Silverdriver and MidWest_MacDaddy Thank this.

Ok, so things have changed over my two year absence... the information that is flowing out of RVA is that we can never be bobtailed and drive off the clock... like when at RVA and running errands before going back OTR... and that we can never use PC while under a load. I thought that’s what PC was to be used for... say during your 10 or 34 and you want to run to the Walmart or Mall for dinner/movie... but now I’m of the understanding that PC is only for bobtailing while not under load.
Am I understanding this correctly now? If true, that will totally suck on ones 34 if under load... can’t move at all??? Not to mention burning your HOS on PC drives. {shrug}Silverdriver Thanks this. -
Hmmm........who said that? The few times I’ve been under a load and did a reset, I bobtailed to go to the movies once and other errands. Me’s thinking someone else needs clarification.MidWest_MacDaddy, Lonesome and RebelChick Thank this.

I have had multiple conversations with Kimberly in Safety about this, making sure that I understand things properly.
What I was told by Kimberly is that we have to document that usage. We can still bobtail to the truckstop or run to WalMart under off-duty drive or whatever, but we have to send in a Qualcomm message saying so. "I am using off-duty drive to travel to the nearest truck stop." or "I am using off-duty drive to travel to WalMart." or whatever.
Since having those conversations with Kimberly, that is what I have been doing, and it hasn't been an issue.MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this. -
At least you guys have the option. Where I'm at we don't even have PC available. We are indeed chained to the truck and truckstop on a 34, unless we want to pay for Lyft or Uber.
-
That seems to be overkill? I should think that notations on your logs when using PC would be enough, but then again, who am I but a monkey behind a wheel?
-
I do not put any notes in and I haven't heard anyone say something about it yet.
MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this.
