I'll believe it when I see it. IMHO, interstates are federal. We need a federal speed limit on all of them. 70-75 would be great.

I'd say this will go thru this time with Blago gone. The last time he vetoed it, the House over-rode it. Blago used his shadiness to keep the Senate from going along with the House. I'm surprised it took this long for the issue to be brought back to the table.

You're point about a national 70-75mph speed limit on interstates would work good in every part of the country except the northeast. There's just too many people in too small of an area up there.

From what I understand, Interstates are "technically federal" however every state has the right to determine and regulate the speed limit or limits. However we all feel about a federal speed limit on all of them. A national 70-75mph speed limit on interstates could possible be a potentially more dangerous situation.

We have enough problems with 4 wheelers now. Just imagine the havoc of all of us, if it were possible (remember tractors with restricted rpm & speed), turning our interstate system into a large version of a NASCAR race to the finish.

Finally, financially most of us don't make enough to even cover the costs involved in making runs/trips this way. Come on now lets be sensible here. A more consistent speed limit through out the lower 48 and tighter regulations and law involving 4 wheelers road conduct with us is needed I feel is more reasonable all around.

That's why I always hated Rod Blagojevich and I can't say I am sad he is gone. I can't stand him. I hope they finally get this done now...

I personally like the idea of 75 mph interstates, and I welcome the crashes of idiot fourwheelers to follow.

There are far too many people alive that shouldn't be I think!
