Which just means that we need to give a little to get a little. We've got to clean up our act so we will be more welcome.
I've got no problem giving a fellow trucker a verbal smack upside the head when I see one dumping trash or piss bottles.
As far as that goes we have to police ourselves because every piss bottle that hits the pavement tarnishes ALL of our reputations and helps to create the shortage of safe parking that contributed to getting that poor driver killed.

That's a good idea, then the city and the business can split the cost of maintaining the lot.

I agree with you 100% Jinx. A lot of the "cowboys" on the road are the reason we drivers have such a bad reputation. Only takes a few bad apples to spoil the barrel......

The company that I work for has strict shipping and recieving hours. If you are not there during those hours you can not pick up or drop off loads. This morning I showed up to work to find two trucks parked in the parking lot waiting. The parking lot was well lit and there are security gaurds at the facility. I just wish that we had a designated area for them so that they know it ok for them to park there.

The answer will be all truck stops charging for parking, like the Petro in Scranton now. Cities will simply restrict parking, and no shippers/receivers will provide overnight parking. Not a killjoy or a pessimist, just how I expect businesses would react, especially in this current economy.
