It’s sounds like you have already made your mind up. At lot of things are feasible, and even more are likely. This is likely going to go to hell in a hand basket. Please keep us updated as to how this works out.

 

I said this in your other thread, unless it has a professionally rebuilt engine, new drive train and everything replaced from air lines to wiring, it can very easily turn out to be a maintainance nightmare for the person who is leasing it.

I also said that when someone leases from Penske or Ryder, they have a national coverage behind them so when a truck craps out on a driver, Penske or Ryder tows it to a shop and get it repaired or replaces it. I can see you footing the bill to get it back to your shop when it is 1100 miles away.

On top of that is fact, we have too many people who are undercapitalized, lack maturity in the business and industry sense getting into trucks. If someone is having issues getting into a truck of their own, they shouldn't be in their own truck.

 

I don’t even know how to respond to this. It has nothing to do with what I’m trying to tell you. But, do what you want. It’s your money, but you are the one who asked if it sounds like a good plan. It does not. Have a good a day, there is no point in continuing this you have made up your mind.

First, I am a little stickler for accuracy. The FMCSA puts out regulations, not laws. Second, what does the enforcement of this regulation have to do with the price of renting or leasing a 22 year old truck?

 

Make it run good and look good. Take lots of pics. And sell it! Oh yeah and have fun..
