When I was OTR wife went with me and cooked it was fantastic. I started out by myself for awhile and was able to cook using a crock pot and the shoe box cooker but other than some good roasts and home made soups my meals generaly blew.

If you get tired of truck stop food, Subway, and the rest of the truck stop junk. Down load Ubereats, GrubHub, Doordash, Domino's and Pizza Hut mobile apps. They will often deliver direct to the truck. few weeks back, got stuck in Albuquerque at the T/A, decided I couldn't stomach Country Pride. Pulled up my Ubereats app on my phone and ordered off that. As soon as it said the driver was enroute, I called the driver and explained to them where exactly I was, where at the truckstop I was, and what color my truck was and that I would be watching for them. Had some awesome Mexican food.

I've found that Jimmy John's, Domino's and Pizza Hut will all deliver to the truck if you're at a customer or truckstop. If you are willing to tip them extra in cash, I've even convinced at a Domino's to deliver to me at a rest area when I was broke down. As long as you know the address and zip code.

Yeah, I use those apps every once in a while, but it’s not sustainable to be eating through those apps every day. $$$

Yeah, kinda pricey, I'm only out one or two nights a month, so for me it's not as big a problem, but I do eat lunch or breakfast at Country Pride in Cheyenne about 5 times a month.

i was once dumb enough to microwave a cup-o-noodles while i was at the dock getting unloaded. a madman on a forklift picking up a 2000 pound pallet of bottled water, sticking it in reverse, and flooring it requires an equal force in the opposite direction to facilitate movement of the forklift. the resulting force of course being forward, which spilled hot noodle water all over my microwave and subsequently down the cabinet and all over the floor of my sleeper.
