I'm in the same boat with the 345 that I bought last year. Until I can upgrade to a 2+2+2 I will either have it hauled for me and/or remove the counterweight and bucket. But I do not have a quick coupler, so it is a bit more work.
Edit to add: 41,500 light weight is pretty good (light). -
What do you gross with that 345 on your setup?SAR, cke, snowman_w900 and 2 others Thank this.

I haven't hauled it myself yet JD. I have only had to move it once since we bought it, and I hired another contractor to haul it. We removed the counterweight which is supposed to be 19,800 lbs. and he said that it was still 95,000. Something is not right with that though. He has a 379 with a sleeper, a long XL 3 axle lowboy with spreader bar and booster. He said that his lightweight is 56,000 with that set up, which seems heavy to me.
As soon as I get our 4 axle tractor going I am going to haul it out of Wyoming. I can go 20, 65, and 65 in Wyoming, so if I take the counterweight off I think I can permit it. We'll probably pull the bucket too just to be safe. The bucket is supposed to weigh about 5300; does that sound about right for 3.5 cy yard bucket? It is not a rock bucket but is heavier duty than a general purpose. I will only be able to get about 14 on the steering though. Still, that gives me 144,000 to work with, and my light weight with that tractor is 42ish, so I should be fine. Problem is there is no placed to weigh it between where it is and the Port of Entry, so it will be a bit of a gamble. Where I am going in April in Idaho with it next is on some restricted roads though (blue routes), so I will probably have to have it hauled again. I don't need it again until April, so hopefully I can get Old Blue put back together by then and find out exactly where I will be with it.SAR, cke, snowman_w900 and 2 others Thank this. -
95,000 does seem really high, that’s closer to assembled weight. The 56,000 Tare weight on the truck doesn’t seem to far out of line, I’m 53,000 with my current setup. With my Talbert I was 47,500+/- and with our big 450 Deere I was 133,000 without cwt and bucket on 7. With my flip, beam and 4th axle I’m 51 and change and with our light 450 (about 3000 lighter than the big one) I’m 154,500. I think you’ll have no trouble scaling a 345 torn down.SAR, cke, snowman_w900 and 2 others Thank this.

Thanks. I'm looking forward to finding out for sure. Book says it is supposed to be 108k fully dressed. I think our bucket is heavier than standard, but even with that and some mud on it I can't imagine it will be more than 115k.SAR, cke, snowman_w900 and 1 other person Thank this.

I look forward to it as well.SAR, cke and snowman_w900 Thank this.

Our 349 without cwt and bucket is 93,000. Machines vary based on specs.

You guys are moving some man-sized excavators with 345s, 349s, and 450s.
BTW, I looked at my CAT scale emails and I weighed 41,800# with 3/4 fuel when I weighed the new truck right after I bought it a few months back, so my memory was a little hazy when I said 41,500 full. But still, it's not terribly heavy. Then again, Kaufman is not a high dollar trailer (compared to some, anyway), so I suspect it's built lighter. No complaints, though, it serves the purpose for me and it's the second one I've bought new. First was a 35 ton. Just call me Sergio haha.
