Just on the off chance this is a real question.
Read part 395 about drivers hours of service. If anyone was actually trying to pull a stunt like this they would be exposing both companies to hundreds of thousands dollars in fines, as well as themselves in the thousands.
And yes the Feds have started fining egregious violations during audits.Mattflat362 Thanks this. -
Snippets from §395.2
Driving time means all time spent at the driving controls of a commercial motor vehicle in operation.
On-duty time means all time from the time a driver begins to work or is required to be in readiness to work until the time the driver is relieved from work and all responsibility for performing work. On-duty time shall include:
(8) Performing any other work in the capacity, employ, or service of, a motor carrier; and
(9) Performing any compensated work for a person who is not a motor carrier.
So, any time performing duties for any motor carrier as well as any time spent getting paid for other work counts toward the 70/8 or 60/7.MachoCyclone, deathB4decaf, Dennixx and 2 others Thank this.
